CONTEXT
NationBuilder makes software for organizers: campaigns, nonprofits, and advocacy groups running websites, donations, and supporter data in one place. I was their Brand and Web Designer for four years.
ROLE
I owned the brand and web output, working with the VP of Marketing, the Director of Content, and our copywriter, social lead, and developer. I worked on the marketing website and landing pages, launches, social and paid ads, event material, sales decks, and the guidelines holding it together, usually as the only designer on the project.
STRATEGY
I rebuilt the visual language first, then turned it into templates for pages, social, ads, and decks that a non-designer could fill in and still land on brand. I also pitched and adopted a Figma-to-HubSpot workflow that cut the design-to-dev handoff out of the process entirely, so pages could go live without a build queue.
IMPACT
Marketing and sales could produce on their own, which took routine requests off design's plate and turned page launches from a multi-week cycle into a same-week one. This change added up to roughly 90 hours returned to the team, developer costs saved, and time that went back into campaigns instead of production. I created a brand system and design enablement for the company so design didn't run through one person
